10th Anniversary in Puerto Galera

It's Moms and Dads' 10th Anniversary, which means it's time to celebrate ten years of adventures together. We decided to splurge a bit (which means getting a room for the night instead of sleeping in a tent) and treat ourselves the best way we can in Puerto Galera.  On our way, we passed by a Swiss bakery but decided to just come back, we were still full from our breakfast at McDonald's. Then, we went straight to White Beach Lodge to check the price and condition of their rooms and we got one with two queen beds. It was a slow season, so we were only charged for 1/3 of the regular price. As soon as we dropped off our things, we went straight to White Beach. To reach our next destination, Coral Garden, we had a 5-minute ride on the car, registered and paid a P10 terminal fee, and bought some bread for the fish feeding activity. Tribong Silangan Week 1

After last week's distribution of relief goods, I realized that there are still plenty of funds/donations left. It inspired me to come up with a project I temporarily and secretly call "Tribong Silangan". It is a weekly gathering of children and teens to spend time cooking, playing, painting, eating etc. together. Every Sunday afternoon, we organically learn with and from each other and have tons of fun and laughter! Here's what happened on our first Sunday as a tribe: We had fun chopping and dicing and preparing pancit for our merienda. James helped by cooking with our teens. It was amazing for me to see how he uses his skills and passion to participate in our little community. While watching him, I felt so much gratitude for the gift of having wonderful kids and the opportunities we have to share them to the world. Ate Dilay helped the younger kids in getting seconds from our humongous pan of noodles.  Vane, Dilay, & Joy gladly cooked
