Vinegar + Baking Soda + Balloons

It's Thursday and it's time for some experiments! This time, it's blowing up some balloons using a mixture of vinegar and baking soda. Honestly, this experiment took me (Mommy) several wiping of spilled vinegar and baking soda before we could have the table picture ready. Getting the (caked up) baking soda into each balloon was also a bit harder than we expected so from Adam, the task was passed on to me. The prep was quite messy and time-consuming but it was worth it. The instant chemical reaction produced instant gratification too and we could say that the end result was a successful one!  Excited to get their hands on the project but patient enough to let me take a picture first. And here's the first one. Woah! That reaction was quick! Adam's plastic bottle had a leak but his finger was good enough to keep the pressure and mixture inside. This one was the biggest balloon because it's from the biggest bottle with the  most amo

Dads' 53rd Birthday Dinner

We were supposed to use our raclette and have a table top grill but we did not have the proper equipment for its power supply, so we changed our menu. Everyone was happy as we indulged in our favorites: fried chicken with buffalo wings sauce, pasta, carrot sticks w/ Asian dressing & mashed potato.  All smiles before we had the feast! James bought (I gave him the money) Daddy a special birthday gift to make his dinner even more enjoyable. I enjoyed all the cooking that I did for Dads. It's my way of expressing my love and gratitude for having this one heck of a guy as my partner in life. James and I also made chocolate cupcakes for desserts. After dinner, James and Adam made the cupcakes pretty with c hocolate frosting, sprinkles, and jelly beans. Apparently, we didn;t have enough candles for Dads' 53rd birthday, hehe! Showing off their yummy creations. Lighting up the candles for our celebrant. Happy Birthday dear Daddy... H

Hotdogs on the Grill & a River to Swim

The smell of liempo and hotdogs on the grill invited Adam, so he helped a bit in turning them as they cooked. Almost ready. Looking great eh? You bet! They smelled good too and tasted even better! The water was just cold enough to freshen as up as we try to beat the summer heat. Of course, the pleasure of eating and swimming isn't enough for Dads. A book  made this day a completely relaxing adventure!
